At Northwoods Credit Union, events are a big part of how we engage with our community. With events making their way back, we are excited to show what our philosophy of ‘People Helping People’ really means. At NCU, we take pride in spreading awareness of topics we find to be important.

The beginning to the middle of June was packed full of fun for Northwoods. To start us off, on Wednesday June 8th, NCU was happy to attend the Carlton County Employee Health Fair right in town.

We were able to spread awareness about identity theft and offer advice to plenty of Carlton County employees! Lunch was served by Magnolia Café while a handful of local businesses offered helpful resources and fun prizes.

If you would like to learn more about how you can prevent identity theft, follow this resource.

We were fortunate to participate in all four days of the Sappi Health Fair June 9th, 10th, 13th, and 14th. Sappi employees participated in fun drawings and won prizes, as they gathered information from various businesses and vendors.

With a great turnout on all four days, volunteers made and served lunch each day throughout the whole fair. While at Sappi, Northwoods offered useful information about credit. To learn more, browse through our website.

Finally, to close out our busy week of events, Northwoods Credit Union was delighted to pair with Reliable Agency as we put together our 3rd annual Senior Day in Cloquet.

Senior Day took place on Wednesday June 15th, and with plenty of craft/food vendors, this event to help raise awareness for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day was a success.

Food trucks such as Room at the Table Catering & Bakery, K&B Concessions, Holy Smokes Catering, and Julie’s Eggrolls, served some delicious food as WKLK Radio provided live entertainment.

This year, we raised $615+ for Senior Meals on Wheels! If you would like to hear more about Senior Day, head to our event page! Also, check out FOX 21’s story on the event from last year here.

These are just some of the highlights from the events we’ve had in June. Throughout the year, stay tuned to our website and social media pages to hear more about what we do to ensure our presence within the community.
