Celebrating 90 Years with the People Who Made It Possible

What a celebration!

This year’s Member Appreciation Days were extra special as Northwoods Credit Union celebrated 90 years of serving our members and communities across northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. From Floodwood to Moose Lake to Cloquet, we loved seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new ones, and spending time with the people who have made the last 90 years possible.

Whether you stopped by for lunch, brought the family for some fun, or simply came to say hello, thank you for celebrating this milestone with us!

Three Days of Food, Fun, and Community

Our 2026 Member Appreciation Days took place September 15 through 17 at our Floodwood, Moose Lake, and Cloquet Avenue B locations. Each day gave us another opportunity to connect with our members, neighbors, and community partners.

Guests enjoyed free lunch from local food vendors, including Holy Smokes BBQ food truck and Rich Cuisine, youth activities and giveaways, and live music and broadcast from WKLK Radio. Our NCU team was also there throughout the celebrations, visiting with members and enjoying everything that makes our credit union community special.

A special thank you goes out to Holy Smokes BBQ, Rich Cuisine, and WKLK Radio for joining us and helping make this year’s events such a success. We love partnering with local businesses.

Congratulations to Our 90th Anniversary Cooler Winners!

Of course, we couldn’t celebrate 90 years without something special.

At each Member Appreciation Day, attendees had the opportunity to enter for a chance to win a custom 30-can NCU 90th Anniversary cooler. Only a limited number of these commemorative coolers were made, making them an extra special piece of our anniversary celebration.

Northwoods Credit Union was founded in 1936 with a commitment to helping local people reach their financial goals. Ninety years later, our members remain at the heart of everything we do.

While Member Appreciation Days gave us a reason to celebrate our history, they were really about celebrating you.

To our members who have been with us for decades, those who have joined us more recently, our employees, community partners, and everyone who stopped by this September, thank you. Your trust and support have helped shape NCU into the credit union it is today.

We are incredibly grateful to have celebrated 90 years with you, and we look forward to continuing to serve our communities for many years to come.
