FAQs

What's the difference between a 401 (k) and an IRA?

A 401 (k) is an employer-sponsored retirement plan while an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a personal account opened independently. 401(k)s offer higher annual contribution limits and often include employer matching, whereas IRAs provide wider investment choices and portability.

What's the difference between a Roth and Traditional IRA?

Traditional IRA contributions are deductible from taxes and your account grows tax-deferred. You pay taxes when you withdraw your funds in retirement. Roth IRA contributions are not deductible but your account grows tax free and you pay no taxes when you withdraw your funds in retirement.
