Celebrating Our Northland Community: Highlights from Senior Day and Member Appreciation Days
As we head towards the back end of our summer event season, we are proud to highlight two successful events that exemplify the spirit of our community: The 5th Annual Senior Day in Cloquet and our 2024 Member Appreciation Days.
Both events showcased the strong bond between Northwoods Credit Union, our partners, and the communities we serve.
5th Annual Senior Day in Cloquet
Held on Wednesday, June 12th, 2024, at Veterans Park, the 5th Annual Senior Day in Cloquet was a resounding success. This year we partnered with Reliable Insurance Agency again to emphasize the importance of World Elder Abuse Awareness.
With over two local dozen vendors, the event featured a variety of crafts, food, and business services, all aimed at raising public awareness about elder abuse and our local elder communities.
Food trucks from Room at The Table, Holy Smokes, Julie’s Eggrolls provided delicious food throughout the day, ensuring attendees had plenty to enjoy.
WKLK Radio kept the atmosphere lively with great music, while numerous guest speakers shared valuable insights on topics pertinent to the senior community.
Speakers included local representatives from:
- United Way of Carlton County
- Justice North
- Cloquet Community Education
- St. Croix Hospice
- Lutheran Social Services
- Carlton County Public Health and Human Services
- Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging
The event was more than just a gathering; it was a community effort that brought people together to enjoy the day and support a worthy cause.
Through the collective generosity of our community, Senior Day in Cloquet successfully raised $750 for Meals on Wheels, providing nutritious meals to seniors and significantly enhancing their health and well-being.
We extend our thanks to all the incredible vendors and participants. Your contributions were instrumental in making Senior Day in Cloquet a resounding success again. Together, we’ve celebrated and supported our seniors while contributing to a noble cause.
We hope you join us next year! Check out the previous event page on Facebook to connect.
Member Appreciation Days 2024
Another highlight of our event season was our annual Member Appreciation Days, held from June 4th-6th at our branches in Floodwood, Moose Lake, and Cloquet.
These days were dedicated to expressing our gratitude to our valued members and communities.
WKLK Radio joined us, providing music and live radio entertainment. Northwoods Credit Union staff and board members engaged with attendees, sharing insights about NCU and chatting all things credit union on the airwaves.
Food from Rich Cuisine was catered to the Floodwood branch, while the Holy Smokes food truck served delicious meals in Moose Lake and Cloquet.
In addition to the fun, members enjoyed participating in a giveaway for custom-made NCU Cornhole Boards and other NCU merchandise, adding an extra layer of excitement to the celebrations. We had youth-themed giveaways, too.
As we reflect on these events, we are filled with gratitude for the unwavering support and participation of our community.
Northwoods Credit Union is proud to serve and celebrate our members and seniors.
