Northwoods Credit Union Celebrates 89th Annual Meeting and Exciting Future Growth

Northwoods Credit Union recently welcomed members, staff, and community members together for its 89th Annual Meeting, celebrating another successful year of serving northern Minnesota communities. The event brought together members from our local areas for an evening focused on connection, important updates, and excitement for the future of the credit union.

Held as a celebration of both the credit union’s history and future, the annual meeting featured credit union updates, member engagement opportunities, free gift drawings, and the official announcement of Northwoods Credit Union’s upcoming Hinckley branch location.

A Night Focused on Members and Community

The annual meeting continues to be one of Northwoods Credit Union’s most important member events each year. As a member-owned financial cooperative, the event gives members an opportunity to stay informed, ask questions, and hear directly from leadership about the status and direction of the credit union.

Throughout the evening, attendees heard updates about the continued growth of Northwoods Credit Union and the organization’s commitment to providing local financial services throughout northern Minnesota. Staff members and leadership shared information about current initiatives, member services, and future goals focused on strengthening the credit union experience for members across Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Attendees also had the opportunity to enjoy free gift drawings and prizes throughout the event, adding to the excitement and celebration of the evening.

Official Hinckley Branch Announcement

One of the biggest highlights of the night was the official announcement of Northwoods Credit Union’s future branch in Hinckley, Minnesota.

The new Hinckley location, coming fall 2026, marks another important step in expanding local financial services for residents and businesses in Pine County and surrounding communities. As Northwoods Credit Union continues to grow, the organization remains focused on providing personalized service, competitive financial products, and convenient banking options close to home.

The future Hinckley branch will become the credit union’s fifth branch location and reflects the continued investment Northwoods Credit Union is making in local communities throughout northern Minnesota.

Helping Members Beyond Traditional Banking

In addition to sharing updates about the future of the credit union, the annual meeting also provided members with opportunities to connect directly with knowledgeable staff members.

NCU team members were available throughout the event to answer questions on a variety of important financial topics, including:

• Fraud prevention and scam awareness
• Online banking and digital services
• Medicare resources and support
• General account and financial questions

Join us for the annual Senior Day in Cloquet to help recognize World Elder Abuse Awareness Day! Northwoods Credit Union’s annual Senior Day event continues to be a favorite tradition for many local members and community residents. The event focuses on celebrating seniors while providing opportunities for education, connection, and community involvement.

Member Appreciation Days

The Annual Member Appreciation Days will also return to Northwoods Credit Union branch locations. These events are designed to thank members for their continued trust and support with fun activities, giveaways, food and refreshments, and opportunities to connect with staff. There is also fun for the kids, too! Look for updates on the official dates soon.
